Betty Karpeles, 99, formerly of Duluth, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 in Santa Barbara, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon in 1983.

She is survived by two sons, Elliot (Donna) Karpeles, and David (Marsha) Karpeles all of Santa Barbara, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. graveside services will be held Thursday (today) at the Adas Israel Cemetery. Arrangements are by McDermott Crockett of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Johnson Crawford Funeral & Cremation services.
